It is interesting to note that the list contains four occasions by Indian batsmen – SR Tendulkar {twice}, R Dravid and SC Ganguly. The last occasion of a batsman accomplishing the feat of six centuries in a calendar year was in 2000, when SC Ganguly scored seven centuries. Thus during the last sixteen years no batsman has accomplished the feat of scoring six or more centuries in a calendar year.

SR Tendulkar with nine centuries owns the record for most centuries in a calendar year. He had performed the feat in 1998
