YS Chahal’s distinctions

YS Chahal’s three wickets against South Africa at Vizag on 14.06.22 fetched 72 wickets in T20is and also two distinctions. He became the highest wicket taker for India in T20Is. He went past JJ Bumrah’s 69 wickets. He also became the first Indian bowler to capture 70 plus wickets in T20Is.

B  Kumar’s four wickets against South Africa at Cuttack on 12 Jun 22 fetched him an aggregate of 63 wickets in T20Is. He became the fourth Indian bowler to capture 60 plus wickets in T20Is. With 63 wickets to his credit, he now stands third in the list of Indian bowlers who have captured most wickets in T20Is.

It is interesting to note that B Kumar became the first Indian bowler to witness his four wickets haul in a losing cause. His four for 13 against South Africa at Cuttack on 12 Jun 22 could not carve a win for India.

RR Pant became the second Indian captain to lost his first Twenty20 International match as captain

RR Pant became the eighth captain to lead India in T20Is. He lost his first match to become the second Indian captain to lose the first match. India lost this game by seven wickets. The other Indian captain to lose his first match was V Kohli. V Kohli had lead India in his first match against England at Kanpur on 26.01.17. India lost this game by seven wickets.
