England go one up in T20I series – Cruise to a facile seven wicket win at Kanpur

Few records for EJG Morgan – became the first England batsman to score 1500 T20I runs and also became the first England captain to score two T20I fifties against India

India capped Parvez Rasool for this game. He became the 67th cricketer to represent India in T20Is. He also became the ninth Indian cricketer to make T20 debut against England.

V Kohli opened the innings in this game for India. He became the 39th captain to open the innings for a team in the history of T20 Internationals. He also became the third Indian captain to open the innings in T20Is. Others are V Sehwag and AM Rahane.

He also became the fifth captain to lead India in T20Is. Others are – V Sehwag {01}, MS Dhoni {72}, SK Raina {03} and AM Rahane {02}

MS Dhoni’s aggregate T20I runs at the end of this game read 1148. He now stands fourth in the list of five Indian batsmen who have scored 1000 plus runs in  T20Is – V Kohli {1686}, RG Sharma {1364}, SK Raina {1237}, MS Dhoni {1148} and Yuvraj Singh {1146}

V Kohli and DA Warner tie for the fifth place in the list of batsmen who have scored most runs in T20Is. Both the batsmen have socred 1686 runs. BB McCullum {2140}, TM Dilshan {1889}, MJ Guptil {1806}, Umar Akmal {169} are the other four batsmen who have scored more runs in T20Is than V Kohli  and DA Warner.

Australia posted 263 for 3 against Sri Lanka at Pallekele on 04.09.16 to provide the highest team total ever recorded in the history of T20 Internationals. The previous best was Sri Lanka’s 260 for 6 against Kenya at Johannesburg on 14.10.17. These two totals are the only two totals in excess of 250 plus runs in the history of T20Is.

Australia’s 263 for 3 provides the 51st occasion of a team posting 200 plus runs in a T20I game. It also provides the ninth occasion of Australia posting a total of 200 plus runs in a T20I.
