R Ashwin {59} and HMRKB Herath {54} captured 50 plus wickets in calendar year to provide the 93rd and 94th occasion of a bowler capturing 50 plus wickets in a calendar year. R Ashwin’s 59 wickets provides the second  occasion of his  capturing 50 plus  wickets in a calendar year – the  first being  his 62 wickets in 2015. HMRKB Herath’s 54 wickets provide the third occaion of his  capturing 50 plus wickets in a calendar year – the other two being  his 60 wickets in 2012 and 56 wickets in 2014. JM Anderson was dismissed run out for the  third occasion is his test career while batting at number eleven in a test innings, when he was dismissed run out for 5 in  England’s second innings in the just concluded test against India at Mohali. The three occasions are listed below
