Approaching milestones ahead of India-Bangladesh Test Series

The Two test series between India and Bangladesh will start with the first test at Chennai starting from Sep 19 2024.

Chepauk is all set to host its 35^th test and the first between India and Bangladesh. Chepauk will share the second place with Arun Jaitely Stadium, Delhi for most tests played in India. Both these grounds will be hosting 35 tests. Eden Gardens, Kolkata with 42 tests occupies the first place

This test would be the 580^th test for India, while Bangladesh would be playing its 145^th test

India would be playing its 290^th test at home and Bangladesh would be playing its 68^th test on away soil

Chennai as a city has hosted 43 tests – 34 tests at Chepauk and nine tests at Nehru Stadium. Chennai as a city hold the record for hosting most tests in India. Kolkata is the other City to host 42 tests. The ensuing test between India and Bangladesh will be the 44^th test at Chennai

V Kohli has scored 29 centuries prior to this test. He needs one more century for his 30^th century. If he gets it, he would then become the fourth Indian batsman to score 30 or more centuries in tests. Others are – SR Tendulkar {51}, R Dravid {36} and SM Gavaskar {34}

The first four day’s of play was washed out in the test between Afghanistan and New Zealand at Greater Noida to provide the 38^th occasion of a day’s play washed out in a test on Indian soil. The list also includes the fifth day of the test called off at Bangalore between Indiaia and West Indies in 1978-79 due to the fear of riot consequent upon the arrest of the then Prime Minister Smt Indira Gandhi
