JM Bairstow of England scored 106 and 72 not out as at the end of the fourth day’s play in the ongoing test at Birmingham against India to provide the 110^th occasion of an England batsman scoring a century and a fifty in a test. It also provides the 55^th occasion of England batsman performing such a feat on home soil. It is by a strange coincidence that England batsmen performing the feat on home soil exactly half of the occasion they have performed overall {55 is exact half of 110}.
