He became the 103rd Indian cricketer to make his test debut against England. He also became the 54th Indian cricketer to mqke his test debut against England in England.

KL Rahul completed 1000 runs when he was on 11 during the course of his knock of 46 in  India’s first innings against England in England. His run aggregate read 1035 at the end of India’s first innings. He became the fourth Indian batsman to achieve such a feat. Others are – SR Tendulakar {1575}, R Dravid {1376} and SM Gavaskar {1172}

KL Rahul completed 1000 runs when he was on 28 during the course of his knock of 46 in India’s first innings against England in England as an opening batsman. His run aggregate read 1018 at the end of India’s first innings. He became the second Indian opening batsman to achieve such a feat. SM Gavaskar is the other opening batsman who has scored 1172 runs against England in England.

KL Rahul became the 34th batsman in the annals of cricket to score 1000 runs against England in England. He also became the ninth opening batsman in the annals of cricket to score 1000 runs against England in England.

RR Pant scored two boundary sixes in his knock of 54 in India’s first innings which fetched him 90 boundary sixes. He now shares the record for most sixes by an Indian batsman for most boundary sixes with V Sehwag. V Sehwag has also scored 90 boundary sixes in his test career. RR Pant went past RG Sharma who has scored 88 boundary sixes to share the record of most sixes by an Indian batsman with V Sehwag

RR Pant’s 90 boundary sixes have come in 47 tests and 82 innings while V Sehwag’s 90 boundary sixes have come in 103 tests and 178 innings representing India.

RR Pant became the ninth batsman in the annals of test cricket to score 90 plus boundary sixes.

RR Pant became the second wicket keeper batsman to score 90 plus boundary sixes in the annals of test cricket. A Gilchrist of Australia has scored 100 boundary sixes.

RR Pant’s 54 in this game fetched him 12th fifty against England. He became the ninth Indian batsman to score 12 or more fifties against England.

RR Pant’s 54 in this game fetched him 12th fifty against England as wicket keeper batsman. He now shares the record for most fifties by an Indian wicket keeper batsman against England with MS Dhoni. MS Dhoni has also scored 12 fifties against England.

RR Pant is the third wicket keeper batsman to score 12 or more fifties against England in the annals of test cricket. Others are – BJ Haddin {14} and MS Dhoni {12}

RR Pant’s 54 in this game fetched him ninth fifty against England in England as a wicket keeper batsman. He now owns the record for most fifties by an Indian wicket keeper batsman against England in England. He went past MS Dhoni who had scored eight fifties as a wicket keeper batsman against England in England. RR Pant holds this record for any wicket keeper in the annals of test cricket scoring most fifties against England in England.

A Khamboj was dismissed for zero in India’s first innings to provide the 13th occasion of an Indian batsman dismissed for zero in the first innings on test debut. He also became the sixth Indian batsman to suffer such an ignominy against England. It provides the 57th occasion of an Indian batsman dismissed for zero on test debut. And also provides the 17th occasion of an Indian batsman to suffer such an ignominy against England.

BA Stokes of England captured five for 72 in India’s first innings to provide the 72nd occasion of an England bowler capturing five or more wickets in an innings against India. It also provides the 39th occasion of an England bowler capturing five or more wickets in an innings against India in England.

BA Stokes’ feat provides the seventh occasion of an England captain capturing five or more wickets in an innings against India. It also provides the sixth occasion of an England captain capturing five or more wickets in an innings against India in England.

The previous occasion of an England captain capturing five or more wickets against India in England was in Jun 1982 when RGD Willis returned with figures of 6 for 101 at Lord’s.
The interval between these two feats is 43 years taking years into consideration.
