Q de Kock’s feat

Q de Kock’s feat

Q de Kock wrote himself into record books as the only wicket keeper batsman to score a century and effect seven or more dismissals in a test on two occasions.  He had scored 129 not out and effected eight dismissals against England at Centurion in Jan 2016 and repeated the feat with 104 and seven dismissals against Australia at Hobart in the just concluded test in Nov 2016.

He also earned the distinction of becoming the only wicket keeper in the annals of test cricket to accomplish such a feat in the same calendar year on two occasions

He also became the second wicket keeper and also the second South African wicket keeper to accomplish such a feat on two occasions against Australia. South Africa’s DT Lindsay had scored 182 and effected eight dismissals against Australia at Johannesburg in Dec 1966. The interval between DT Lindsay’s feat and Q de Kock’s feat is fifty years taking into calendar year into consideration {1966 and 2016}

Q de Kock’s feat against Australia at Hobart provides sixth such occasion in the annals of test cricket. All such occasions are listed below
