RR Panth of Delhi emulated K Srikar Bharat of Andhra in scoring a triple hundred as a wicket keeper batsman in  the history of Ranji Trophy. K Srikar Bharat had earned the distinction of becoming the first ever wicket keeper batsman to score a triple hundred in Ranji Trophy when he scored 308 against Goa at Ongole  in 2014-15 season. RR Panth of Delhi emulated K Srikar Bharat to score a triple hundred by scoring 308 against Maharashtra at Mumbai-WS in the current season 2016-17. It is interesting to note that it took 70 years for a wicket keeper batsman to score a triple hundred in Ranji Trophy since its inception in 1934-35.

Hemant Kanitkar and his son Hrishikesh Kanitkar form the only pair of father and son in the history of Ranji Trophy to score 250 plus runs. Both represented the same team – Maharashtra. Father HS Kanitkar scored 250 runs against Rajasthan at Poona in 1970-71, while son HH Kanitkar scored 290 against Bihar at Jamadoba in 2002-03 season
