Man of the Match for a cricketer on losing side in one day games

When SR Tendulkar was awarded the Man of the Match for his 175 against Australia at Hyderabad on 05.11.09, it was the sixth occasion on which Tendulkar was awarded Man of the Match, even though his side India ended up as losers.

SR Tendulkar’s six Man of the Match awards is a record for most Man of the Match awards for a cricketer when his team ended up as loser. The previous record in this category of statistics was five and was credited to Javed Miandad of Pakistan
