Ganesh Satish’s 94 in this game provide the 32nd individual ninety by Karnataka batsman in Ranji Trophy. Ganesh Satish’s 94 provide the second occasion of Karnataka batsman registering individual ninety against Baroda. VST Naidu was the other batsman who had made 90 at Bangalore in 2008-09
Robin Uthappa’s 58 represent his 11th fifty in 38 matches. Stuart Binny, playing his first match of the season at the expense of B Akhil scored 66, which was highest individual score in Ranji Trophy, an improvement over his previous best of 54 against Tamilnadu at Bangalore in 2003.
Irfan Pathan made individual fifties (68 and 81) in both innings of the match. He is the first Baroda Captain to accomplish such a feat against Karnataka. The highest individual score recorded by a Baroda Captain is 137 by CC Williams at Bangalore in 2008-09.
By scoring 68 and 81, Irfan Pathan became the 42nd batsmen and the second Baroda batsmen to register fifties in both innings against Karnataka. RK Solanki had scored 53 and 66 at Bangalore in 2008-09.
Irfan Pathan completed 1000 runs in Ranji Trophy when he was on 80 during his second innings score of 81. At the end of the match his aggregate read 1001 which cane in his was his 24th match and 39th innings.
Satyajit Parab bagged a “Pair”in this match and became the 58th batsman to bag a pair against Karnataka. Parab is the third Baroda batsmen after DV Pardeshi and MS Patel to bag a pair against Karnataka. Pardeshi and Patel had collected the paid at Baroda in 1982-83.
PR Shah – the Baroda wicket keeper pouched five catches in an innings. He became the first Baroda wicket keeper and the 10th wicket keeper to effect five or more dismissals against Karnataka.
Abhimanyu Mithun who had an aggregate of 22 wickets prior to this match took six wickets in this match and extended his aggregate to 28. He became the second Karnatka bowler to have an aggregate of 25 plus wickets this season, after R Vinay Kumar whose aggregate of wickets at the end of this match stood at 33. A Mithun’s 28 wickets came in his debut season
Mithun’s 25 plus wicket aggregate provides the 55th occasaion of a Karnataka bowler capturing 25 plus wickets in a season
Baroda conceded 53 extras in this match providing the fourth occasion of team conceding 50 plus extras against Karnataka. The other three occasions are Hyderabad conceding 56 Extras at Bangalore in 1999-00, Kerala conceding 55 Extras at Quilon in 1988-89 and Bombay conceding 53 Extras at Bombay in 1982-83
The fouth wicket partnership of 183 runs between Ganesh Satish and MK Pandey is a record standagainst Baroda for the fourth wicket. The previous best was the 156 runs partnership between R Vijay Bharadwaj and KA Jeshwant at Bangalore in 1995-96.
