KRD Karthik completed exact 1000 runs of his test career when he was dismissed for 27 in the second innings. He is the 55^th Indian batsman to aggregate 1000 test runs.

VVS Laxman scored 69 not out in the second innings of this test which was his 43^rd half century and 57^th fifty.

VVS Laxman’s 69 not out represent his 23^rd half century on away soil. R Dravid {34} and SR Tendulkar {30} are the other two Indian batsmen who have score more half centuries on away soil than VVS Laxman. While registering his 23^rd half century on away soil, VVS Laxman went past 22 away soil half centuries scored by SC Ganguly and SM Gavaskar.
