MS Dhoni with his eight dismissals against Bangladesh at Mirpur became the third captain-cum-wicket keeper in the annals of test cricket to effect eight dismissals in a test match.

The other two captain-cum-wicket keepers who have effected eight dismissals in a test are – AJ Stewert of England {vs South Africa at Nottigham in Jul 98} and AC Gilchrist of Australia {vs Sri Lanka at Darwin in Jul 2004}

AC Gilchrist scored a half century {80} in the test against Sri Lanka in which he effected eight dismissals, while AJ Stewert did not score a half century in the match in which he effected eight dismissals. MS Dhoni scored a half century {89} against Bangladesh at Mirpur and effected eight dismissals in the test

Thus AC Gilchrist and MS Dhoni are the two wicket keeper captains in the annals of test cricket to score a fifty in an innings and effect eight dismissals in the test.
