In the calendar year 1997, three batsmen scored hundreds in the one day game between Australia and West Indies on 05.01.97. All the three hundreds are taken into account in this list.

Similarly. Six years later, in calendar year 2003, two batsmen scored hundreds in the one day game between Australia and Sri Lanka on 09.01.03. These two hundreds are also taken into account in this list.

Even though the first one day game was played on 05.01.71 in the calendar year 1971, the first one day hundred was scored in 1972 by DL Amiss of England against Australia on 24.08.1972
