He is the second bowler after Irfan Pathan to capture ten plus wickets against Bangladesh. Irfan Pathan has captured 11 for 96 at Dhaka in Dec 2004. SR Tendulkar and R Dravid were concerned in a 222 runs unfinished stand for the third wicket against Bangladesh at Mirpur. This stand provided SR Tendulkar the fifteenth 200 plus runs partnership for various wickets in a test innings. With this partnership, Tendulkar is on par with RT Ponting of Australia who is also one of the partners in 200 plus runs partnerships on 15 occasions.

SR Tendulkar and RT Ponting are the only two batsmen who have fifteen 200 plus runs partnerships to their credit in the annals of test cricket.

R Dravid and SR Tendulkar were concerned in 222 runs stand for the third wicket in this game providing their 17th three figure partnerships, which is a world record for most number of three figure partnerships between a pair. The previous record was 16 three figure partnerships between CG Greenidge-DL Haynes and ML Hayden-RT Ponting.

R Dravid and SR Tendulkar added 222 runs for the third wicket against Bangladesh at Mirpur in India’s first innings. This partnership gave SR Tendulkar another world record as he became the only batsman in the annals of test cricket to forge 200 plus runs partnerships on four occasions with two partners – SC Ganguly and R Dravid.

G Gambhir’s 68 in India’s first innings against Bangladesh at Mirpur made him the second batsman in the annals of test cricket to register eleven fifties in consecutive test matches. Gambhir emulated IVA Richards of West Indies who had achieved the distinction of registering eleven fifties in consecutive test matches.

G Gambhir went past JH Edrich of England who had scored ten fifties in consecutive matches. Gambhir now holds the record for an opening batsman who has scored eleven fifties in consecutive matches. He wrested the record from JH Edrich who had scored ten fifties in consecutive matches

R Dravid’s 111 retd hurt in this test provide the eleventh occasion of a batsman retiring hurt after scoring a hundred in the annals of test cricket

R Dravid remains the only batsman to have retired hurt with a hundred to his credit on two occasions. Apart from this test in which he retired hurt after scoring 111, he was retired hurt after scoring exact 100 against West Indies at Mumbai {WS} in Oct 2002

R Dravid and SR Tendulkar added 222 runs unfinished stand for the third wicket in this test providing Dravid his 81st three figure partnership – most by a batsman in the annals of test cricket and Tendulkar his 73rd three figure partnership.
