Bangladesh vs India Test Series : SR Tendulkar aggregates 1700 boundary fours

SR Tendulkar added one more feather to his cap during his innings of 76 not out at the end of the first day’s play against Bangladesh at Chittagong on 17.01.10. He aggregated 1700 boundary fours to become the only batsman in the annals of test cricket to aggregate 1700 boundary fours. He reached the milestone when he hit Shakib Al Hasan for a boundary four, which was his sixth four of his innings. He collected the ball from outside the off stump and hit against the turn with a slog sweep over midwicket for four.

MV Boucher of South Africa completed 5000 runs when he was on 66 during his knock of 95 against England at Johannesburg in the fourth and final test. At the end of the test, he has an aggregate of 5029 runs, Boucher achieved the milestone in his 130th test and 185th innings. He has scored five hundreds and 32 half centuries. His 32 half centuries remains the most half centuries scored by a wicket keeper batsman in the annals of test cricket. His highest score is 125 against Zimbabwe at Harare in Nov 1999, Out of his 185 test innings, he has remained not out on 22 occasions and has an average of 30.85 runs per innings.

MV Boucher is the second wicket keeper batsman to aggregate 5000 plus runs in the annals of test cricket, after AC Gilchrist of Australia who aggregated 5570 runs.
