GC Smith’s 183 provides the 19^th occasion of a South African batsman registering 150 plus runs in South Africa’s second innings

GC Smith’s 183 against England in the third test at Cape Town provide the 35^th occasion of a captain scoring 150 plus runs in the team’s second innings. It was the second occasion of GC Smith scoring 150 plus runs in South Africa’s second innings – the first occasion being 154 not out against England at Birmingham in Jul 2008.

GC Smith becomes the fourth South African batman to score 150 plus runs in South Africa’s second innings on two separate occasions. Others are B Mitchell, G Kirsten and JH Kallis. The performance of these four batsmen are listed below
