South Africa in West Indies – JH Kallis becomes the first South African batsman to score eight test hundreds against a specific opposition

JH Kallis’s 110 in this test provide his 35th test hundred and also his eighth against West Indies. His eight hundreds are – 110 at Cape Town n Jan 1999, 158 at Jo’burg in Dec 2003, 177 at Durban in Dec 2003, 130* at Cape Town in Jan 2004, 130* at Centurion in Jan 2004, 109* at Georgetown in Mar 2005, 147 at St John’s in Apr 2005 and 110 at Basseterre in Jun 2010.

JH Kallis with his eight hundreds now has the record of scoring most hundreds by a South African batsman against West Indies and he wrested the record from GC Smith who has seven hundreds to his credit. His seventh hundred was his 132 in this test.
