Tendulkar registered his ninth hundred against Sri Lanka at Col-SSC in the second test of the series, He made 108 not out at the end of the third day in this test. His feat of nine hundreds provides the 12th occasion of a batsman scoring nine hundreds against a specific opposition. SR Tendulkar’s hundred – 108 not out at the end of the third day – in this test against Sri Lanka gave him his ninth hundred and with it the distinction of becoming the only batsman in the annals of test cricket of scoring nine or more hundreds against two specific oppositions constituting a WORLD RECORD. Tendulkar has already scored ten hundreds against Australia.
