SR Tendulkar’s hundred – 108 not out at the end of the third day – in this test against Sri Lanka gave him his ninth hundred and with it the distinction of becoming the only batsman in the annals of test cricket of scoring nine or more hundreds against two specific oppositions constituting a WORLD RECORD. Tendulkar has already scored ten hundreds against Australia.

SK Raina became the 35th Indian batsman to score a fifty on test debut. He had scored 66 not out at the end of third day’s play. He is the third Indian batsman to perform the feat against Sri Lanka, The other two are – J Arunlal {63 at Chennai in Sep 1982} and LS Rajput {61 at Col-SSC in Aug 1985}

SR Tendulkar registered his 48th test hundred when he scored 108 not out at the end of the third day in this test. It was his ninth hundred against Sri Lanka. His feat of nine hundreds against Sri Lanka provides the 12th occasion of a batsman scoring nine hundreds against a specific opposition.

SR Tendulkar’s hundred in this test against Sri Lanka gave him his ninth hundred and with it the distinction of becoming the only batsman in the annals of test cricket of scoring nine or more hundreds against two specific oppositions constituting a WORLD RECORD. It was fitting tribute to Col-SSC to have the 75th hundred scored on it, with the batting mastero, numero uno – SR Tendulkar – scoring 108 not out – at the end of the third day of the test.
