DL Vettori would be playing his 100th test for New Zealand when he plays against India at Ahmedabad. {He has played one test for ICC World Eleven}. He would become the 50th Cricketer to appear in 100 tests representing a country.

DL Vettori would become the second cricketer to play 100 tests after SP Fleming who has played 111 tests representing New Zealand,

R Dravid would be playing his 250th test innings when he bats in the first innings of Ahmedabad test. Others to play 250 plus test innings are prior to the Ahmedabad test are – SR Tendulkar {280}, AR Border {265}, SR Waugh {260} and RT Pontng {251}. R Dravid would become the second Indian batsman to play 250 plus test innings.

R Dravid who has an aggregate of 4938 runs at home soil, prior to the start of the series, require 62 runs more to total 5000 runs, He would become the 11th batsman in the annals of test cricket to total 5000 plus runs on home soil. He would become the third Indian batsman, after SR Tendulkar {6421} and SM Gavaskar {5067} to reach the milestone

R Dravid with this 5000 runs on home soil would become the 11th batsman to score 5000 plus runs on home soil. Others are RT Ponting {6790}, SR Tendulkar {6421}, BC Lara {6217}, DPMD Jaywardene {5951}, JH Kallis {5927}, GA Gooch {5917}, AR Border {5743}, SR Waugh {5710}, ML Hayden {5210} and SM Gavaskar {5067} {Note : SR Tendulkar run aggregate prior to the start of the series}

SR Tendulkar who has an aggregate of 6421 runs prior to the start of the series require 79 runs for his 6500 runs on home soil. If he gets them he would be the second batsman in the annals of test cricket to score 6500 plus runs on home soil, the first being RT Ponting of Australia who has amassed 6790 runs.

SR Tendulkar who has scored 48 fifties {22 C plus 26 HC} requires to more fifties for 50 fifties on home soil. If he gets them, he would become the second batsman in the annals of test cricket to score 50 fifties. RT Ponting of Australia is the other batsman with 54 fifties {21 C plus 33 HC} to his credit. SR Tendulkar would become the first Indian batsman to score fifty fifties on home soil.

Prior to the start of the test series, SR Tendulkar and R Dravid have scored 26 and 25 half centuries on home soil respectively. R Dravid would require one more half century to catch up with SR Tendulkar, provided the latter does not score a fifty

Prior to the start of the series, SR Tendulkar and R Dravid have scored eleven and ten fifties respectively against New Zealand. One more fifty to R Dravid would put him on par with SR Tendulkar, provided the latter does not score a fifty

SR Tendulkar and R Dravid have scored four hundreds against New Zealand. One more hundred to either of them would give them a record of most hundreds by an Indian batsman against New Zealand.

SR Tendulkar would be playing his 20th test against New Zealand at Ahmedabad and would become the first cricketer to play 20 tests against New Zealand. It would be a series record as well. SR Tendulkar would become the fourth cricketer to play 20 or more tests against New Zealand. Others are – AR Border {23}, SR Waugh {23} and SK Warne {20}

SR Tendulkar has an aggregate of 1406 runs against New Zealand prior to the start of the series. He requires 94 runs more to reach 1500 runs. If he gets them, he would become the first Indian batsman to total 1500 runs against New Zealand. He would become the third batsman after Javed Miandad {1919} and AR Border {1500} to total 1500 runs against New Zealand.

R Dravid, BS Bedi and M Azharuddin have played 12 tests against New Zealand. Ahmedabad test would be the 13th test for R Dravid. R Dravid would occupy the second place amongst the Indian cricketers who have played most tests against New Zealand. SR Tendulkar with 20 tests leads the table {including his appearance at Ahmedabad}

R Dravid would be playing his 25th innings at Ahmedabad and would become the second Indian batsman to play 25 plus test innings against New Zealand after SR Tendulkar who has played 33 innings { ncluding his innings at Ahmedabad}

SR Tendulkar who has scored eleven fifties against New Zealand prior to the start of the series, requires one more fifty to occupy the second place amongst the batsmen who have scored most fifties against New Zealand. Javed Miandad of Pakistan with 13 fifties to his credit occupies the first place.

Two more fifties to SR Tendulkar would give him 13 fifties against New Zealand and with it he shares the record for most fifties against New Zealand jointly with Javed Miandad of Pakistan who also has scored 13 fifties.

R Dravid who has an aggregate of 1318 against New Zealand runs prior to the start of the series, require 182 runs more to reach 1500 runs. If he gets there, he would become the fourht batsman to total 1500 runs against New Zealand. Others are Javed Miandad {1919} and AR Border {1500} and SR Tendulkar {taking into account that SR Tendulkar reaches the milestone before R Dravid}.

SR Tendulkar and R Dravid have scored four hundreds against New Zealand. One more hundred to each of them would give them five hundreds. If they get them, they would join the following batsmen who have scored five or more hundreds against New Zealand – Javed Miandad of Pakistan {07}, AR Border of Australia {05}, JH Kallis of South Africa {05} and Shoaib Mohammad of Pakistan {05}

R Dravid and SR Tendulkar have been associated in 121 partnerships prior to the start of the test. They need one more partnership to equal the 122 partnerships held by MS Atapattu and ST Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka and ML Hayden and JL Langer. Two more stands would give R Dravid-SR Tendulkar pair 123 partnerships and they would hold the second position in the list of most partnerships in the annals of test cricket. CG Greenidge and DL Haynes with 148 partnerships occupy the first place.

R Dravid-SR Tendulkar pair has 6137 partnership runs and require 346 more runs would give them 6483 runs and with it t
he most partnership runs. They would wrest the record from CG Greendige-DL Haynes who has 6482 partnership runs

Prior to the start of the series, R Dravid-SR Tendulkar, CG Greenidge-DL Haynes and ML Hayden-JL Langer pair have 42 partnerships of 50 plus runs. One more fifty plus partnership to R Dravid-SR Tendulkar pair would give them 43 fifty plus runs partnership and with it the world record of most fifty plus runs partnerships in the annals of test cricket

R Dravid-SR Tendulkar pair has 24 half century partnerships prior to the start of the test series. One more half century partnership would give them 25 half century partnerships. They would became the third pair in the annals of test cricket to post 25 plus half century

Other pairs are – ML Hayden-JL Langer {28} and CG Greenidge-ST Jayasuriya {26}

Prior to the start of the test series, DL Vettori has taken 26 wickets against India. Four more wickets would give him 30 wickets and with it he would become the second New Zealand bowler to capture 30 plus wickets, the first being RJ Hadlee who has captured 65 wickets,

Indian batsmen have posted 49 three figure partnerships against New Zealand. One more three figure stand would give India the 50th three figure partnership

R Dravid and AL Wadekar share the Indian record of most catches against New Zealand with 16 catches. One more catch for Dravid would give him 17 catches and with it the record of most catches by an Indian fieldsman against New Zealand.

Harbhajan Singh-R Dravid {bower-fielder combination} has accounted for 49 batsmen prior to the start of the test series. One more catch for Dravid of Harbhajan Singh’s bowling would give the combination 50th victim. Dravid would then earn a unique record in the annals of test cricket. He would become the only fieldsman in the annals of test cricket to pouch 50 catches of two bowlers. He has already taken 55 catches of A Kumble.

One more wicket for Harbhjan Singh-R Dravid would combination would give them 50 wickets and they would become the fourth pair in the annals of test cricket to have 50 plus wickets. Others are – M Muralitharan-DPMD Jayawardene {77}, A Kumble-R Dravid {55} and SK Warne-MA Taylor {51}

DL Vettori has an aggregate of 3962 runs prior to the start of the test series. He requires 38 more runs for his 4000 runs. Should he get it, he would become the fifth New Zealand batsman to total 4000 test runs. Others are – SP Fleming {7172}, MD Crowe {5444}, JG Wright {5334} and NJ Astle {4072}

DL Vettori’s 4000 runs and 325 plus wickets would make him the third all round cricketer in the annals of test cricket with 4000 runs and 300 test wickets. Others are – N Kapil Dev {5248 runs and 434 wickets} and IT Botham {5200 runs and 383 wickets}

DL Vettori has an aggregate of 490 runs against India prior to the start of the test series. He requires ten more runs for his 500 runs. He would then become the tenth New Zealand batsman to total 500 plus runs against India. Others are – GT Dowling {964}, B Sutcliffe {885}, JG Wright {804}, MG Burgess {725}, BE Congdon {713}, JR Reid {691}, CD McMillan {647}, SP Fleming {620} and GM Turner {583}

DL Vettori’s 500 runs coupled with 26 plus wickets would make him the fifth cricketer to score 500 plus runs and capture 25 or more wickets against India. The other four are – Imran Khan of Pakistan {1091 runs and 94 wickets}, GS Sobers of West Indies {1920 runs and 59 wickets}, IT Botham of England {1201 runs and 59 wickets} and AW Greig of England {883 runs and 27 wickets}

DL Vettori who has played 12 tests against India prior to the start of the test series would be playing his 13th test at Ahmedabad. With 13 tests he would be on par with MG Burgess, BE Congdon and SP Fleming who have played 13 tests against India. RJ Hadlee with 14 tests holds the record for most test appearances against India.

Hyderabad Test would be DL Vettori’s 14th test against India and he would be on par with RJ Hadlee. Nagpur test would be DL Vettori’s 15th test against India which would give him the record of most appearances against India.

R Dravid with 198 catches to his credit prior to the start of the series require two more catches for 200 catches. If he gets there, he would become the first fieldsman in the annals of test cricket to pouch 200 catches.

DL Vettori who has played 49 away tests prior to the start of the series, would be playing his 50th away test at Ahmedabad. He would become the second New Zealand cricketer to appear in 50 plus away tests after SP Fleming who has played 57 away tests. DL Vettori would become the 42nd cricketer to play 50 plus away tests.
