KC Sangkkara became the first wicket keeper batsman to total 750 runs. He reached the milestone when he was on 17 during his innings of 44 in this game. At the end of this game, his run aggregate stood at 777.

TM Dilshan became the third Sri Lankan batsman to total 750 plus runs. Others are – DPMD Jayawardene {784} and KC Sangkaara {777}. KC Sangkkara and TM Dilshan completed 750 runs in this game.

TM Dilshan and KC Sangakkara added 71 runs for the third wicket in this game to provide the 29th occasion of Sri Lankan batsmen posting a 50 plus runs partnership in T20Is. This stand provides the sixth occasion of Australian batsmen posting a 50 plus runs partnership in T20Is.

This stand provide the second occasion of Sri Lankan batsmen posting 50 plus runs partnership against Australia in T20Is. The other occasion was – 62 runs stand for the second wicket between TM Dilshan and KC Sangakkara at Nottingham on 08.06.09. Thus the 71 runs stand in this game is the record stand by Sri Lankan batsmen for any wicket against Australia.

Australia and Sri Lanka have met each other on four occasions in T20Is including this game. The results of these four games are – Australia won by ten wickets at Cape Town on 20.09.07, Sri Lanka won by six wickets at Nottingham on 08.06.09, Australia won by 81 runs at Bridgetown on 09.05.10 and Sri Lanka won by seven wickets at Perth on 31.10.10.
