DL Vettori took his 100th wicket as captain-left arm spin bowler when he had Harbhajan Singh caught by Hopkins for 69. He is the second bowler to earn this distinction in the annals of test cricket. BS Bedi with 106 wickets to his credit is the other captain to capture 100 plus wickets a captain-cum-left arm spinner.
DL Vettori has bowled 50 plus overs in an innings on 17 occasions as a bowler. He is now third in the list of bowlers who have bowled most occasions of 50 overs in an innings. M Muralitharan {31} and LR Gibbs {19} are the other bowlers who have bowled 50 plus overs in an innings on more occasions than DL Vettori.
JS Patel and DL Vettori conceded 100 plus runs in this innings to provide the 24th and 25th occasion of New Zealand bowlers conceding 100 plus runs against India.
