Match No 07 – Rajasthan Royals vs. Kolkata Knight Riders at Jaipur on 08.04.12 : Rajasthan Royals won by 22 runs

 

R Dravid and AM Rahane were dismissed run out in this game providing the second occasion of both the openers run out in an IPL game. The first occasion was at Hyderabad-RGS on 25.06.08 when Bangalore openers – JH Kallis and W Jaffer – were dismissed run out against Hyderabad.

 

BJ Hodge’s aggregate at the end of this game stood at 4291 which includes his 44 in this game. He now holds the record for highest run getter in T20 games. He went past DJ Hussey’s aggregate of 4283 runs which was the previous best.

 

BJ Hodge and AL Maneria added 64 runs for the fourth wicket in this game providing the 50th occasion of Rajasthan batsmen posting 50 plus runs in IPL. This stand also represent the eighth occasion of a 50 plus runs stand for the fourth wicket by Rajasthan batsmen in IPL. All the eight such occasions are listed below

This stand represents the fourth stand of 50 plus runs by Rajasthan batsmen against Kolkata for various wickets in IPL and also the best stand against Kolkata. The previous best was 57 runs partnership between YK Pathan and RA Jadeja at Jaipur on 01.05.08. It is interesting to note that all these four partnerships have been realized at Jaipur – home ground of Rajasthan.

Kolkata was all out for 142 in this game providing the seccond occasion of it being dismissed twice against an opposition in IPL. It was dismissed for 151 against Rajasthan at Jaipur on 01.05.08. The other team which has dismissed Kolklata all out on two occasions is Mumbai. Mumbai has dismissed Kolkata for 95 at Port Elizabeth on 27.04.09 and for 67 at Mumbai on 16.05.09

 

Kolkata was all out for 142 in this game providing the 55th occasion of team dismissed all out in IPL. This also represents Kolkata dismissed all out for the sixth occasion after scoing 100 plus runs in IPL. In a rare coincidence of Statistics, both the rival captains – G Gambhir of Kolkata and R Dravid of Rajasthan – were playing their 57th match in IPL.

 

MK Tiwari’s 59 went in vain providing the 130th occasion of a batsman’s fifty in a losing cause in IPL. It also provides the 15th occasion of a Kollkata batsman’s fifty in a losing cause.
