Records galore for Mithali Raj – She does India proud

Mithali Raj of India became the second woman batsman to total 5000 one day runs in the history of women one day internationals.  She reached the land mark when she was on  52 during her knock of 81 not out against New Zealand woman at Bangalore on 06.07.15. The other batswoman to achieve this feat is CM Edwards of England who has an aggregate of 5829 runs.  The performance of Mithali Raj against each opposition as of today read thus

One more record befell on Mithali Raj. She now owns the record of scoring most runs by a woman batsman on home soil. Her run aggregate at the end of this game read 2115. She went past CM Edward’s {England} aggregate of 2076. Mithali Raj had an aggregate of 2034 prior to the start of today’s game and needed 43 runs to gp past CM Edwards. 

MIthali was set for one more record during her knock of 81 not out in today’s game. She became the third captain in the history of women one day games to total 2500 runs.   She reached the land mark when she was on 38 during her knock of 81 not out in today’s game. Other captains to achieve this feat are – BJ Clarke of Australia {4150 and  CM Edwards of England {3343}. Mithali Raj is the first Indian captain to total 2500 plus runs. She became the fourth captain in the history of women one day games to total 1000 plus runs on home soil. She reached the land mark when she was on 77 during her knock of 81 not out in today’s game. Mithali Raj’s 81 not out in today’s game was her 42nd fifty of her one day career. She now occupies the second place in the list of batswoman who have score most fifties in women one day internationals. The first place is occupied by CM Edwards of England who has scored 54 fifties. Mithali Raj went past KL Rolton of Australia who has scored 41 fifties, on her way to occupy the second position.
