Pakistan won the final test against Sri Lanka at Pallekele by seven wickets chasing a total of 377 runs in the fourth innings of  the test to provide the ninth occasion of a team chasing 350 plus runs to win a test in the annals of test cricket. All such occasions are listed in the descending order of the  runs scored  by a team to win the test.

It was Pakistan’s second win chasing 300 plus runs in the fourth innings of a test. Its previous chase was against Australia at Karachi in Oct 94. Set a target of 314, Pakistan had scored 315 for 9 to win the test by one wicket. Thus the chase of 377 in this test represent the record chase by Pakistan to win the test
