MRKPL-M17- Belagavi Panthers vs Namma Shivamogga at Mysuru – Belgavi Panthers won by five wickets

Riding on inform SH Kirmani’s 56, Namma Shivamogga posted 160 for 7. Kaunian Abbas scored an useful 26. Namma Shivamogga lost its way as it lost three wickets at the score of 100. Both the batsmen benefited by the shoddy fielding of Namma Shivamogga.

R Vinay Kumar is the only all rounder in the KPL tournament to capture 25 plus wickets and score 450 plus runs. At the end of this game, he has taken 29 wickets and scored 463 runs.

R Jonathan has an aggregate of 679 runs at the end of this game. He now occupies the second place in the list of batsmen who have scored most runs in KPL. The first place is occupied by MA Agarwal who has amassed 740 runs. R Jonathan went past B Chipli who had an aggregate of 651 runs on his way to second position.

This win was Belgavi Panther’s 16th win in KPL and they own the record for most wins in KPL. They went past Bijapur Bulls which has won 15 games in KPL.

MRKPL-M18 – Bellary Tuskers vs Mangalore United at Mysuru on 12.09.15 – Second game at 5.30 PM – Bellary Tuskers won by seven runs.

Bellary Tuskers were dismissed for 164 in this game and they defended the total to win the game by seven runs. PU Deshpande {40} and Amit Verma {38} contributed to Bellary Tusker’s total of 164. Mitrakant Yadav was the wrecker-in-cheif with a bag of 4 for 19. His 4 for 19 has the followng accreditations.

His four for 19 in this game to provide the 28th occasion of a bowler capturing four or more wickets in KPL. He became the fifth bowler to capture four or more wickets in KPL on two occasions. He also became the fourth bowler to capture four or more wickets on two occasions in the same edition of KPL. He became the second Mangalore United bowler to capture four wickets on two occasions in the same edition after UB Patel. UB Patel had performed such a feat in KPL 2010

Skipper RK Sabharwal was dismissed for a duck. RK Sabharwal collected his fifth duck in KPL when he was dismissed for a duck in this game. He now shares the record for most ducks in KPL with C Raghu, C Raghu has also scored five ducks in KPL.

MRKPL-M13 – Bijapur Bulls vs Namma Shivamogga at Hubli on 09.09.15 – Bijapur Bulls won by seven wickets on the last ball of the match

Namma Shivamogga opted to bat first after winning the toss and posted a comfortable 161 for 7 in its twenty overs. Inform wicket keeper batsman SH Kirmani was in form again by scoring a fluent 61 which came off 43 deliveries. His innings contained four boundary fours and five boundary sixes. M Kaunian Abbas scored 58 and were the batting main stay for Namma Shivamogga

This game had all the ingredients of a T20 game that are usually associated with as the game into the last ball. Namma Shivamogga defended the total to the last ball of the match. Bijapur Bulls batsman had their nerves to win the match. Stuart Binny – who did not bowl himself in the match – led his team astutely.

Opening batsman R Samarth with his 78 not out in the game stayed at the crease till the end of the game. Useful contributions from RR Bhatkal {36} and RV Uthappa {39} contributed to thier team’s win. This game was won on the last ball of the match to provide the second occasion of a team winnning the match on the last ball. The first such occasion was witnessed when Bijapur Bulls had won the game against Mangalore United by two wickets on the last ball of the match at Bsngalore on 19.09.10
