LRPL Taylor became the second batsman to score a double century when the rival batsmen have scored double centuries on two or more occasions. He had scored 290 in the ongoing test between Australia and New Zealand at Perth when Australian batsman DA Warner had scored 253 in this test. The other occasion of such a feat by him was witnessed at Dunedin in Dec 2013.  LRPL Taylor and DM Bravo scored 217 not out and 218 runs respectively in this test.
