The other two occasions are – 106 runs partnership fof the third wicket between KL Rahul and B Chipli against Rockstars at Hubli on 10.09.14 and 108 runs partnership for the first wicket between Mohd Taha and KB Pawan against Namma Shivamogga at Mysore on 13.09.15. Thus the 118 runs partnership between Mohd Taha and AA Reddy in this game represents the highest three figure partnership posted by Hubli Tigers batsmen in KPL

It also provides the second occasion of Hubli Tigers batsmen posting a three figure partnership for the first wicket in KPL. It also provides the highest partnership for the first wicket posted by Hubli Tigers batsmen in KPL.

Mohd Taha completed 500 runs in KPL when he was on 86 during his knock of 89 in this game. At the end of this game his run aggregate read 503. He became the 16th batsman to aggregate 500 plus runs in KPL.

R Samarth and RV Uthappa added 112 runs for the second wicket in this game to provide the 22nd occasion of batsmen posting a three figure partnership in KPL. It also provides the fifth occasion of batsmen posting a three figure partnership for the second wicket in KPL.

Mohd Taha of Hubli Tigers scored 89 and R Samarth of Bijapur Bulls scored 87 not out in this game to provide the 85th and 86th occasion of opening batsman scoring a fifty in KPL. It also provides the 53rd and 54th occasion of an opening batsman batting at number one scoring a fifty in KPL.

Mohd Taha’s 89 in this game was in a losing cause to provide the 38th occasion of a batsman’s fifty in a losing cause and also provide the 26th occasion of an opening batsman’s fifty going in vain in KPL.

Mohd Tahs’s 89 in this game was in a losing cause to provide the fifth occasion of a batsman’s fifty going in vain in KPL 2016. RV Uthappa’s 51 in this game provide the 21st occasion of a captain scoring a fifty in KPL. It was his first fifty as captain in KPL.

Match report – KPL 2016-M-06-Hubli Tigers vs Bijapur Bulls at Hubli on 19.09.16 – Bijapur Bulls won by seven wickets

Put into bat, Hubli Tigers posted a total of 188 for 7 in its knock. Its innings was built around a fine 118 runs partnership between Mohd Taha and AM Reddy for the first wicket. After the fall of first wicket, S Aravind came in at number three in the form of a pinch hitter. The idea misfired as he left without scoring. Wickets fell regularly and the team lost is momentum. Skipper KR Kapoor batted at number eight was baffling. It was a procession of batsman walking back to the pavilion and the opener Mohd Taha was a mute spectator to the parade. Mohd Taha scored 89 with the help of five boundary fours and seven boundary sixes. He now shares the record for most sixes by a batsman in an innings in a KPL game with MA Agarwal, MA Agarwal had scored seven boundary sixes in his knock of 103 representing Belgavi Panthers against Hubli Tigers at Hubli on 08.09.15

While Hubli Tigers lost its wickets regularly, credit should be given to RV Uthappa who used his bowling resources skillfully and restricted the score to 188. Hubli Tigers lost seven wickets for 70 runs in a hurry. A Mithun, MG Naveen and SA Khadir bowled well to capture two wickets each.

Bijapur Bulls had no difficulty in chasing the moderate total. It romped home winners by seven wickets. R Samarth and RV Uthappa added 112 runs for the second wicket in this game to ensure a smooth win. The three figure partnership provides the fourth occasion of Bijapur Bulls batsmen posting a three figure partnership in KPL. Amit Verma earned the distinction of becoming the most capped cricketer in KPL. This game was his 34th game. He went past AA Joshi and R Jonathan who have played 33 games. He was run out for 27 in this game

It also provides the fourth occasion of a team winning a KPL game with exact two deliveries to spare and also provide the third occasion of Namma Shivamogga winning a KPL game with single digit deliveries to spare, It also provide the second occasion of Namma Shivamogga winning a

KPL game with single digit deliveries to spare against Bellary Tuskers. The other occasion was its victory with three balls to spare at Hubli on 06.09.15

Bellary Tuskers lost its tenth game in KPL and became the fifth team to lose ten or more games in KPL. Others are – Belgavi Panthers {14}, Mangalore United {14}, Rockstars {13} and Bijapur Bulls {12}

Put into bat Bellary Tuskers start was disastrous as it lost opener RP Kadam to the third ball of the innings. He wad dismissed for a duck without a run on the score board. KB Pawan and Amit Verma propped up the innings with a second wicket stand of 48 runs before the latter was dismissed run out for 27. Amit Verma became the most capped cricketer of KPL with 34 caps to his credit. He also became the fourth batsman to score most runs in KPL. His run aggregate at the end of this game read 695. Others are – MA Agarwal {814}, R Jonathan {746} and B Chipli {736}

Sixth wicket stand of 53 runs between B Akhil and SP Manjunath ensured Bellary Tuskers a score of 169 for 6 in twenty overs. B Akhil was captaining a team for the 27th occasion in KPL when he led Bellary Tuskers. He holds the record for captaining a team on most occasions in KPL. He is the only captain to have led 25 plus games in KPL

KB Pawan {42}, Amit Verma {27}, SN Raju {28}, B Akhil {21 not out} and SP Manjunath {28} were the main contributors to Bellary Tuskers’s total of 169. KP Appanna was the most successful bowler for Namma Shivamogga with a bag of 2 for 35

Namma Shivamogga’s chase was not rosy. Inform opener SH Kirmani was dismissed run out for 8 with the score board reading mere 11. It lost Nikin Jose for 18, PU Deshpande for 8 and Skipper STR Binny for 1 and the side was in deep trouble as the score board read 61 for 4. Match report – KPL 2016-M-04-Mysuru Warriors Vs Rockstars at Hubli on 18.09.16 – Mysore Warriors won by 111 runs

Put into bat, Mysore Warriors made a mincemeat of Rockstar’s bowling attack to post its highest team total of 219 for 4. The innings was built around a fluent 89 not out by the left hand opener Arjun Hoysala. He was concerned in a first wicket partnership of 118 runs with Rajoo Bhatkal and a second wicket partnership of 61 runs with K Gowtham.

Mysore Warrior’s 219 for 4 provides the sixth occasion of a team posting 200 plus runs in KPL. It also represents the second highest team total in KPL. The highest team total is 245 for 6 by Hubli Tigers against Rockstars at Hubli on 10.09.14

AA Hoysala’s 89 not out represents not only his highest individual innings in KPL but also represent the highest individual innings by a Mysore Warriors batsman in KPL.

Barring Rajeev {51} and Pradeep Bogadi {20} none of the other batsman reached double figures in Rockstar’s innings. J Suchith was the most successful bowler with a bag of 3 for 27.

Mysore Warriors won the game by 111 runs to provide the second occasion of a team winning a KPL game by 100 plus runs margin. The other occasion was Hubli Tigers’ 136 run victory against Rockstars at Hubli on 10.09.14. Thus Rockstars earned a dubious distinction of becoming the only team in KPL to lose two games by 100 plus runs margin

It is interesting to note that in the first three matches of KPL 2016 played on 17.09.16, opening batsmen in the three matches witnessed their fifties going in vain. In the first game, it was SH Kirmani, in the second game it was CM Gautham and in the third game it was R Samarth. Third wicket fell at 33 as Rohit Gowda left without scoring. It was left to captain wicket keeper CM Gautham and M Nidesh to prop the innings by adding 89 runs for the fourth wicket
