Put into bat Bellary Tuskers start was disastrous as it lost opener RP Kadam to the third ball of the innings. He wad dismissed for a duck without a run on the score board. KB Pawan and Amit Verma propped up the innings with a second wicket stand of 48 runs before the latter was dismissed run out for 27. Amit Verma became the most capped cricketer of KPL with 34 caps to his credit. He also became the fourth batsman to score most runs in KPL. His run aggregate at the end of this game read 695.
