The previous record was the 353 runs partnership between VVS Laxman and SR Tendulkar against Australia at Sydney in Jan 2004. The 365 runs partnership between V Kohli and AM Rahane for the fourth wicket in this game also represents the record partnership for the fourth wicket against New Zealand. The previous best stand was the 281 runs partnership between SC Ganguly and SR Tendulkar at Ahmedabad in Oct 1999
