At the end of just concluded test between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh at Galle, HMRKB Herath of Sri Lanka,  has created a record for most wickets by a left arm spin bowler in the annals of test cricket. He captured nine wickets in the test – three in the first and six in the second – which game him an aggregate of 366 wickets. He went past DL Vettori of New Zealand who had held the previous record for most wickets by a left arm spinner – 362 wickets
