R Ashwin of India is on the threshold of a unique record in the annals of test cricket. He has captured 96 wickets while sharing the new ball as a spinner as at the end of the second day of the ongoing Col-SSC test against Sri Lanka and require four more wickets for his 100 wickets. If he gets them, then he would become the first bowler in the history of test cricket to capture one hundred test wickets while sharing the new ball as a spinner.
