STR Binny emulated his father RMH Binny in taking 100 plus wicket for Karnatka. RMH Binny had a tally of 111 wickets from 68 matches. Thus RMH Binny and STR Binny became the first pair of Father and Son capturing 100 plus wickets in Ranji Trophy from Karnataka. RMH Binny had taken his 100th wicket in 53rd match, while STR Binny achieved the feat in 67th match
It is interesting to note that STR Binny had earlier emulated the feat of his father RMH Binny in scoring a century for Karnataka. STR Binny had scored a century (118) in Karnataka’s first innings. Thus they became the first Father-Son combination to score a century against the same opposition
STR Binny became the tenth all rounder when he took his 100th wicket. His run aggregate in Ranji Trophy read 3683 at the end of Karnataka’s first innings in this game. Father RMH Binny is also in the list of Karnataka cricketers who have accomplished the all rounder’s feat of 1000 plus runs and 100 plus wickets. Thus RMH and STR Binny earned the distinction of becoming the first Karnataka Father-Son pair to accomplish the all rounder’s feat of 1000 plus runs and 100 plus wickets. The following list shows the Karnataka cricketers who have achieved the feat of all rounder’s double
