Milestone three figure partnerships at home for Australia and India
Australia and India posted the milestone partnerships at Brisbane and India respectively which none of the statisticians noticed across the globe and I also noticed a bit late. Australia posted its 500th three figure partnership at home while India posted its 300th three figure partnership at home. However I chose to post this prior to the start of the two team’s next test which starts today. Australia take on England at Adelaide today – a day night test – starting from 9.00 AM IST and India clash with Sri Lanka at Delhi which starts at 9.00 AM. This article is posted at 8.25 AM prior to the start time of these two tests.
DA Warner and CT Bancroft added 173 runs in an unfinished partnership for the first wicket against England at Brisbane provided the 500th three figure partnership at home for Australia
M Vijay and CA Pujara’s 209 runs partnership for the second wicket against Sri Lanka at Nagpur provided the 300th three figure partnership for India
Australia became the second team in the annals of test cricket to post 500 plus three figure partnerships at home after England. England has posted 541 three figure partnerships at home. India became the third team in the history of test cricket to post 300 plus three figure partnerships at home. India posted two more three figure partnerships at Nagpur and at the end of the test it had posted a total of 302 three figure partnerships
The following are the progressive milestones of the three figure partnerships of these two teams at home in terms of 100 partnerships
