S Dhawan’s unique feat in the annals of test cricket – becomes the first batsman to score first appearance hundreds against five oppositions

S Dhawan scored 107 against Bangladesh at Bangalore in the recently concluded test which was his  first  appearance  hundred against Afghanistan. This was  his  fifth first  appearance  hundred against a team in tests. Prior to this he had scored first appearance hundred against four teams – namely – Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

He has achieved an unique distinction in the annals of test cricket to  score first appearance hundred against five teams which no other batsman has  achieved in the test history. The following table lists his five first appearance hundreds
