RR Pant of India effected five dismissals in the ongoing test against England at Nottingham. His feat makes him the fifth wicketkeeper in the annals of test cricket to effect five or more dismissals on debut. The feats of these five glove men are detailed below. He is the first Indian wicketkeeper to effect five  or more dismissals on test debut

NS Tamhane had effected four dismissals against Pakistan at Dhaka in Jan 1955. Both the occasions are detailed below. Thus it  took 63 years seven months  for  an Indian wicketkeeper to effect five or  more dismissals on test  debut on away soil
