V Kohli’s 107 against West Indies at Pune-MCA on 27.10.18 was in a losing cause to provide the 72nd occasion of a captain’s century going in vain in the history of one-day internationals. It also provides the 12th occasion of an Indian batsman’s century in a losing cause. All such occasions are tabulated below. V Kohli became the first Indian captain to witness his century going in vain against West Indies.
