Highlights of the final day’s play of the third test at Manchester between England and West Indies

SCJ Broad of England became the seventh bowler in the annals of test cricket to capture 500 wickets in tests. His 500th victim was KC Brathwaite whom he had leg before wicket for 19 in West Indies second innings.  He needed nine wickets to reach the land mark and captured six wickets in the first innings of the third test at Manchester and his third wicket West Indies’ second innings on the final day of the  test – that of KC Brathwaite whom he had leg before – gave him his 500th wicket. At the end of the test his wicket aggregate read 501. He captured 10 for 67 in this test – 6 for 31 in the first innings and 4 for 36 in the second innings. SCJ Broad of England became the fourth pace bowler in the annals of test cricket to capture 500 wickets in tests after JM Anderson, GD McGrath and CA Walsh. He became the second England bowler in the annals of test cricket to capture 500 wickets in tests after JM Anderson

SCJ Broad of England scored 62 and capture 10 for 67 in the just concluded third test against West Indies at Manchester to provide the 29th occasion of a cricketer scoring a fifty  in an innings and capturing ten or more wickets in a match in the annals of test cricket. It also provides the sixth occasion of an England cricketer performing such a feat. All such occasions are tabulated below. It also provides the first such occasion by an England cricketer against West Indies.
