SCJ Broad of England became the seventh bowler in the annals of test cricket to capture 500 wickets in tests. His 500th victim was KC Brathwaite whom he had leg before wicket for 19 in West Indies second innings. He needed nine wickets to reach the land mark and captured six wickets in the first innings of the third test at Manchester and his third wicket West Indies’ second innings on the final day of the test – that of KC Brathwaite whom he had leg before – gave him his 500th wicket. At the end of the test his wicket aggregate read 501. He captured 10 for 67 in this test – 6 for 31 in the first innings and 4 for 36 in the second innings.
