This test will be a day-night test to provide the 16th occasion of a Day-Night test in the annals of test cricket. It will be the second day-night test held in India. The first one was against Bangladesh at Kolkata in Nov 2019. India had won this test by an innings and 46 runs

I Sharma made his 100th test appearance in this test. He is the 70th cricketer to appear in 100 plus tests in the annals of test cricket. He is the eleventh Indian cricketer to appear in 100 plus tests.
