KD Karthik of Tamil Nadu became the fifth batsman in the history of Vijay Hazare Trophy to compile 3000 plus runs. He reached the milestone when he was on 12 during the course of his knock of 44 in the quarterfinal tie against Karnataka at Jaipur on 21 Dec 2021. At the end of this game his aggregate read 3032. Other batsman to score 3000 plus runs in the tournament are – Yashpal Singh {3193}, RV Uthappa {3115}, A Mukund {3048} and MK Tiwari {3007}
KD Karthik is the second Tamil Nadu batsman to compile 3000 plus runs in Vijay Hazare Trophy after A Mukund.
KD Karthik requires seventeen more runs to become the highest run getter for Tamil Nadu in Vijay Hazare Trophy. 17 more runs would fetch him 3049 runs and he would go past A Mukund who has scored 3048 runs in the tournament.
