The recently concluded Sydney test between Australia and England witnessed rival wicket keepers scoring zeroes in one of their innings to provide the seventh occasion of rival wicket keepers scoring zeroes in the test series between the two teams. JC Buttler failed to open his account in England’s first innings while AT Carey of Australia failed to open his account in Australia’s second innings. It also provides the second such occasion at Sydney, the first one being in Jan 1963. It also provides the the third such occasion on Australian soil. Melbourne in Feb 1921 had witnessed such an occasion prior to the two instances at Sydney.

Four catches by a substitute fieldsman in a test match
OJ Pope of England became the sixth fieldsman in the annals of test cricket to take four catches in a match as a substitute fieldsman.
