R Gurbani of Afghanistan and BKG Mendis of Sri Lanka opened the innings for their respective teama in the game between these two teams on 01.11.22 in the first match of the day and JC Buttler of England and D Conway of New Zealand opened the innings for their respective teams in the game at Brisbane on 01.11.22 between these two teams in the second match of the day to provide the second occasion of rival wicket keepers opening the innings for their teams in the two games played on the same day in the history of the T20 World Cup. Both such occasions are tabulated below. The first such occasion was witnessed in the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup held in South Africa in 2007.
