Jalaj S Saxena’s distinction in Ranji Trophy – become the first bowler to capture eight wickets in an innings on five occasions

Jalaj S Saxena of Kerala of captured 8 for 36 against Services at Rajkot in the just concluded fifth round of Ranji Trophy 2022/23 to provide the fifth occasion of his capturing eight or more wickets in an innings in Ranji Trophy.  All such occasions are tabulated below

He achieved the distinction of becoming the only bowler in the history of Ranji Trophy to capture eight wickets in an innings on five occasions. His 8 for 36 represent his best inning bowling figures in the Ranji Trophy, an improvement over his 8 for 45 against Andhra at Thumba in 2018/19 season
