Batsmen’s century and ninety in a test going in vain
JE Root of England scored 153 not out and 95 in the just concluded test at Wellington against New Zealand. His effort went in vain to provide the seventh occasion of a batsman’s century and ninety in a losing cause in the annals of test cricket. All such occasions are tabulated below
