It is interesting to note that of the 15 three figure partnerships posted in a test against Australia at a neutral venue, 14 are by Pakistan batsmen. Thus India became the first team to post a three figure partnership against Australia at a neutral venue, other than Pakistan.

It’s just a coincidence. India was dismissed all out for 296. Australia’s lead over India at the end of the third day was also 296.  Australia’s second innings score at the end of the third day was 123 for 4  – the first four digits in that order.

SN Thakur’s 51 in this game represent his fourth fifty of his test career. Other three are – 67 Vs Aus at Brisbane in Jan 2021, 60 Vs Eng at The Oval in Sep 2021 and 57 Vs Eng at The Oval in Sep 2021. Thus his 51 in the first innings of this test represent his third consecutive fifty at The Oval.
