Approaching milestones ahead of the third test between India and England – Records galore for R Ashwin

BA Stokes of England is all set to play his 100th test. He would become the 16th England cricketer to appear in 100 plus tests and also would become the 76th cricketer overall.

R Ashwin of India need one wicket more for his 500 test wickets. If he gets it, he would then become the ninth bowler to capture 500 plus wickets in the annals of test cricket. He would also become the second Indian bowler to capture 500 test wickets after A Kumble. A Kumble has captured 619 wickets.

R Ashwin has captured five or more wickets in an innings on 34 occasions. One more five wicket haul would fetch him 35th five wicket haul. He would then become the fifth bowler in the annals of test cricket to capture 35   five wicket hauls. Others are – M Muralitharan {67}, SK Warne {37}, RJ Hadlee {36} and A Kumble {35}
