Two batsmen scoring centuries in both innings of a test in the annals of test cricket
DM de Silva and PHKD Mendis scored centuries in both innings in the test against Bangladesh at Sylhet to provide the third occasion of two batsmen scoring centuries in both innings of a test in the annals of test cricket. All such occasions are tabulated below

It is interesting to note that in all these three occasions, one of the batsmen was leading the respective team. In the first instance, IM Chappell was captaining Australia, in the second instance, Misbah-ul-Haq was leading Pakistan and in the third instance DM de Silva was captaining Sri Lanka.
The interval between the first and second occasion was 40 years {1974 and 2014} and the interval between the second and third occasion is 20 years {2014 and 2024}
