Lord’s – Mecca of Cricket – witnessed for the first time, five England batsmen scoring half centuries in a test innings in the annals of test cricket.  This incidence occurred during the on-going test between England and West Indies. Zak Crawley {76}, Ollie Pope {56}, Joe Root {68}, Harry Brook {50} and Jamie Smith {70} were the five England batsmen who scored half centuries

It also provides the second such occasion of five or more batsmen scoring half centuries in a test innings at Lord’s.  Prior to this six Sri Lankan batsmen had scored half centuries against England at Lord’s in May 2006.

Test cricket has witnessed 42 occasions of batsmen scoring five or more half centuries in a test innings.  It’s the second such occasion at Lord’s. It also provides the eighth such occasion by England batsmen in a test innings and the second such occasion by England batsmen against West Indies.
