It also provides the twelfth occasion of England dismissed for a total of less than 200 runs in an innings on home soil against India. It also provides the fourth occasion of England dismissed for a total of less than 200 runs in an innings at Lord’s against India

BA Stokes was dismissed bowled in England’s second innings to provide the tenth occasion of his getting bowled in an innings against India. He became the first England batsman to be dismissed bowled in an innings against India on ten or more occasions in the annals of test cricket.

This Lord’s test has witnessed twelve bowled dismissals so far to provide the most occasion of bowled dismissals in a test in the test series between England and India. The previous record was ten bowled dismissals witnessed in the test at Hyderabad in Jan 2024 in a test in the test series between England-India.

The annals of test cricket has witnessed four occasions of batsmen getting bowled in a test match on ten or more occasions. Australia Vs England at Sydney in Feb 1887 {14},

Australia Vs England at Sydney in Mar 1882 {12}, Australia Vs England at Melbourne in Dec 1882 {12} and England Vs India at Lord’s in Jul 2025 {12].

It is interesting to note that a test hae 12 or more dismissals after a gap of 143 years, taking into consideration of calendar years or to be precise 142 years seven months

In the on-going Test match between England and India at Lord’s, India achieved a unique record of seven bowled dismissals in a single innings, marking the first instance of India achieving this feat in Test history. The match also saw a total of 12 bowled dismissals for India, the most in any Test match they have played. Additionally, Washington Sundar became the first spinner to take four bowled dismissals in a Test match at Lord’s.
